DERAILED

“Derailed,”is middle grade historical fiction based on a true incident that occurred in 1911, in my hometown, West Chelmsford MA. In the years that Buffalo Bill toured with his famous Wild West Show, train derailments were not uncommon.

The Story: Thirteen year old Gretta Anderson is about to give up on her dreams of continuing her education and becoming a newspaper reporter when a train carrying the famous "Buffalo Bill's Wild West and Pawnee Bill's Great Far East Show" derails in her small town. This incident inspires her and gives her the courage to get her life back on track.
